Following last year's record-breaking sales, AUDI AG continues to grow in 2016. Today, Audi has released the sales figures for the month of January. With around 143,150 units, the company increased its year-on-year global deliveries by 4% in January. In Europe, the sales increased by 6.5% to around 59,900 cars.
Audi continued to receive a boost from its SUV lineup as deliveries of Audi Q3, Q5 and Q7 of around 46,350 units was 20.3% above the previous year’s figure.
In America, Audi delivered around 16,600 units in January – 2.5% more than a year ago. Deliveries of the full-size SUV in the US market increased by 165.5% to 2,336 units. In Europe, the Audi Q7 managed to double its sales every month since its market introduction in June. In January, deliveries of this model in the region tripled to around 3,150 units.
In Ireland, Audi remains the country’s number one premium car brand. The company reported an impressive 1,550 new car registrations in January 2016, a 29% increase on the same month last year. In January, Audi held a 30.9% share of the Irish premium car market, and a 3.9% share of the overall Irish car market. In particular, the all-new Audi A4 and all-new Audi Q7 continue to resonate with the Irish premium car buyer.
“We started the new year at a good pace and delivered more cars than ever before in a January,” says Dietmar Voggenreiter, Member of the Board of Management for Sales and Marketing at AUDI AG. “We have gained new customers in the Americas, Europe and Asia. That shows how balanced our growth strategy is.”
