Connolly's Volkswagen Letterkenny were recognised as the Electric Vehicle Dealership of the Year for the Ulster Region at the SIMI Irish Motor Industry Awards.
23 county winners were announced last month, and a regional winner was announced for each of the four provinces at the SIMI Irish Motor Industry Awards dinner on Thursday, February 22nd.
Zero Vehicles Emissions Ireland (ZEVI), an office within the Department of Transport, and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), together, have announced the regional winners of the 2024 ZEVI EV Dealership of the Year Awards. Now in their third year, these awards recognise and reward excellence in the promotion and sale of electric vehicles (EVs) in Ireland.
Connolly's Volkswagen Letterkenny were awarded with the Electric Vehicle Dealership of the Year Award for the Ulster Region. The award was evaluated on several criteria, including showroom visibility of EVs, salesperson knowledge of EVs, sales approach, EV training, sales trends, and website presentation.
Declan Meally, Director of Business, Public Sector and Transport with SEAI commented:
"On behalf of SEAI, I would like to congratulate all the regional winners on their success in this year’s EV Dealership of the Year Awards. There is a 74% reduction in transport costs when you drive an EV, compared to a comparable new diesel engine car and it is the dealers who are helping us to communicate this message to their customers, which is evidenced by the year-on-year growth in EV sales. It is amazing to see EV dealers embracing these awards in such large numbers and we are proud to reward their success and wish them luck in the next stage of the competition."
