Junior Sales Executive

Main Purpose of Job:

To work as part of the sales team to continuously deliver the highest level of satisfaction to internal and external customers. To continually strive to meet sales and profit opportunities via the sales of vehicles, finance and insurance products. To ensure that the profit margins are achieved on the sale of all products are in line with manufacturer standards. To sell an agreed of volume of new and used vehicles.

Role Responsibilities:

- To actively prospect for new customers by cold calling, emails and use of the appropriate databases;

- Follow up every sales opportunity through the company website leads, customer enquiry calls and emails;

- To continuously deliver the highest level of customer satisfaction;

- To sell an agreed volume of new and used cars;

- To pursue and achieve incremental sales and profit opportunities through the sale of finance, warranty, insurance and accessory sales;

- To achieve the individual profit objectives set by the sales manager;

- To provide expert and prompt advice to new and existing customers regarding the various products that are available with the sales of their new / used vehicle;

- Deliver on the agreed sales schedule to generate business – on a daily/weekly/monthly basis;

- Participates in external promotional activities to raise the profile of the brand and generate sales opportunities;

- Qualify the customers needs and present the dealerships products and services which will enable these needs to be met;

- Follows a planned professional sales presentation, designed to achieve maximum results from the available sales opportunities;

- Establishes the most appropriate way for the customer to fund their acquisition (finance / Hire Purchase / Other funding arrangements), according with FCA regulations;

- Demonstrates and presents products to customers highlighting the unique selling points;

- Conducts accurate and fair appraisals for all vehicles presented for part exchange in line with company guidelines;

- Provides customers with accurate vehicle delivery dates and keeps customers informed of the progress of same;

- Agrees valuations and sales contracts with the sales manager and completes satisfactory negotiations with potential customers to maximise sales and profit;

- Calculates vehicle on the road price and informs customer of payment methods and details in accordance with FCA regulations;

- Conducts a structured and professional vehicle handover in accordance with the vehicle handover checklist and guide for the appropriate product;

- Participates in sales campaigns and promotions to maximise sales;

- Develops and maintain comprehensive product knowledge in respect of all vehicles, prices, promotions, funding and taxation of vehicles;

- Maintains good relationships with customers by meeting and exceeding their expectations;

- Maintains regular contact with all customers both with pre and post sale;

- Handles customer issues and complaints using the necessary skills and resolving the issue to the mutual satisfaction of the customer and the business;

- Regularly reviews manufacturer bulletins and marketing programmes to ensure customers are offered current promotions;

- To comply with FCA training and undertake competence tests on an annual basis;

- Processes appropriate dealership paperwork for the customer deal files to ensure that the vehicle is correctly and fully prepared and invoiced to include any accessories or conversions completed on time;

- Provides completed deal file with appropriate dealer and insurance documentation to the administration department to ensure that the vehicle is ordered and taxed on time;

- Maintains and updates customer contact data on Kerridge on a daily basis;

- Completes customer packs in preparation for vehicle handovers;

- Undertake all administration requirements of the position to include relevant paperwork and reports;

- Ensures the security and processing of all monetary transactions taken from customers in line with dealership standards and processes;

- Ensures that vehicle stock and the showroom are always maintained to meet dealership and brand standards;

- Understands and complies with all appropriate sales legislation;

- Ability to analyse and monitor own performance;

- Complies with all Health and Safety legislation to ensure safety and well being of self, colleagues, customers and visitors;

- Ensures that all company equipment and materials are used correctly and report any defects as required;

- Not to supply vehicle valuations to customers without the agreement of the sales manager;

- Not to enter into any purchase of sale contracts without the approval of the Sales Manager;

- Not to remove prospective customers from the database without the approval of the sales manager.

- Comply with Trade Disposal Policy and work within the process.

Skills and Competencies:

- Strong communication skills with internal and external customers, suppliers and the manufacturer;

- Ability to manage and close existing deals while cultivating new opportunities;

- Strong problem solving ability to identify and resolve dissatisfied customers issues in a professional and empathetic manner;

- Possess strong attention to detail with administrative functions;

- Work independently in a busy, active environment, managing own time and workflow effectively

- Present a consistently professional image to both internal and external customers, through attitude, behaviour and personal appearance;

- Ability to prospect effectively;

- Ability to qualify customers effectively;

- Ability to present and sell the unique selling points of all products;

- Build strong interdepartmental relationships and pay close attention to other department requirements;

- Ability to understand and interpret FCA changes;

- Ability to prioritise and organise customer appointments.
